GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Indiana State Police have found an SUV that was involved in a fatal hit and run on I-69 Friday afternoon.

State police said just before 1:30 p.m., Rodney Hunley, 51, of Van Buren, was headed north on I-69 near the 264 mile marker when he hit a semi driver who'd been working under the hood of his disabled rig. Taquel Dayeh, 57, of Westland, Michigan, was walking from the front of the semi to the driver's side when he was hit.

The northbound lanes were closed for about two hours.

Hunley, who wasn't hurt, allegedly failed to stop at the crash scene and drove to his Van Buren home. Police said about an hour and a half later, he went to the Van Buren Police Department and met with Indiana State Police investigators.

At this time police don't think drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Investigators are trying to determine if a medical episode by Hunley may have played a role.
