WATERLOO, Ind. (WANE/KPC) A semi tractor-trailer tipped over Tuesday evening on U.S. 6, leaving its driver with minor cuts and, for an undisclosed reason – in police custody.

According to our partners in news at KPC News, it happened just west of I-69 near the Marathon gas station just after 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.

DeKalb County sheriff’s deputies, Waterloo Police, Indiana State Police, Waterloo Grant Township firefighters and medics arrived to find a semi-truck and the flatbed trailer and steel coil it was towing on its side in the drainage ditch on the road’s north edge.

The sheriff’s department said the truck went off the road for unknown reasons.

The semi’s driver, who was not identified, was placed into custody as officials worked the crash. Officers would not say why the man was being held.

Medics treated the driver at the scene.

The name Mule Train Inc. of Hudson was painted on the door of the cab.

Police said more information would be released when the investigation was complete.
