FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - NewsChannel 15 has learned a semi leaked around 80 gallons of fuel on southbound I-69 Saturday night.
A worker with Hoagy Wrecker Service told NewsChannel 15's Lamar Holliday at the scene that a female semi driver ran over some debris in the road when driving south on I-69. That debris wrapped around the drive shaft and hit the fuel line, the worker said.
It happened around 7:45 p.m. just north of mile marker 105, which is the Illinois Road exit. Traffic had been down to one lane and moving very slowly for several hours while crews cleaned up the mess.
As of Sunday morning at 1:20, those crews had reopened the stretch and traffic was moving freely.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
