FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Three women were hurt and traffic on I-69 was tied up for two hours Tuesday afternoon because of a crash between a box truck and a Cadillac.
It happened at the 314.5 mile marker, near the I-469 interchange on Fort Wayne's north side.
Police said around 3:30 p.m., a box truck driven by Diana Hewson, 66, from Pendleton, was heading south in the middle lane of I-69 when she tried to move into the right lane.
Hewson didn't see the Cadillac and hit it. Both vehicles spun out and the box truck fell onto its side.
The driver of the car, Casey Frantz, 25, of South Whitley, and a passenger, Tracey Reichart, from Van Wert, Ohio, were taken to a hospital for treatment. Both have been released. Medics also took Hewson to a hospital, where, at last report, she was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Two of three southbound lanes were closed for about two hours while crews cleaned up the scene.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
