FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Four cars, including one transporting human blood for the Red Cross, and a semi were involved in a crash at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of Coliseum Blvd. and Lake Ave.
Four cars were stopped for traffic at the intersection when an approaching semi rear ended the last car in the line. The impact from the semi into the white cargo van caused a chain reaction.
Two injuries were reported. One man was taken to a hospital in fair condition. Neither of the injuries reported appeared to be critical.
The white cargo van was carrying a load of human blood for the American Red Cross. The Red Cross was notified and another van arrived to continue transporting the blood.
The crash affected northbound traffic on Coliseum Blvd. and the driver of the semi was cited for a traffic infraction.
The Fort Wayne Police Department were assisted by the Fort Wayne Fire Department and the Indiana State Police.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
