DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department is seeking information about a two-car hit-and-run accident that occurred Wednesday night at around 7 p.m. on CR 4a west of CR 73.
Police said Lauren Henion, of Angola, was driving west on CR 4a approaching a curve at CR 73 when a second vehicle, traveling eastbound, crossed the center lane, striking Henion's driver's side directly behind the door.
Henion lost control of the car after the impact. The car then rolled onto its top in a ditch.
Police said Henion and her passenger, Alyssa Souder, of Garrett, were able to remove themselves from the car.
The vehicle that hit Henion's car was described as a purple or dark maroon Chevy HHR. Henion said the driver of the car stopped to see what had happened and then continued to drive on CR 4s, leaving the scene.
Anyone with any information on the driver who left the scene, should contact the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department at (260) 925-3365.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
