FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department said I-69 is extremely slick.
According to police, they have responded to accidents all along I-69 Saturday morning as far south as exit 299 and as far north as exit 309.
Police said vehicles are attempting to change lanes and are sliding and spinning out due to the weather.
Just south of exit 305, a semi jackknifed on the icy road. Officials said the semi was heading northbound in the far right lane of I-69 when the driver lost control due to icy roads. An SUV then rear-ended a car after trying to avoid the semi.
Police said there were no injures in the crash.
FWPD said traffic was down to one lane on I-69 northbound periodically for a couple of hours Saturday morning.
According to police, they were also called to a crash on I-69 northbound at mile marker 308.4 around 10:38 a.m. A van in the left lane lost control and a semi in the right lane also lost control while attempting to avoid the van. The semi then hit the van.
Police said there were no injuries in the crash.
