GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A three vehicle crash on State Rd. 18 at State Rd. 13 near Peru injured four people on Thursday afternoon.
Police said Kimberly Schrank, 45, of Batesville, was driving northbound on State Rd. 13 when she allegedly failed to stop for a stop sign at State Rd. 18.
Schrank's vehicle pulled into the path of an eastbound Freightliner semi-tractor pulling a box trailer, driven by Randy Townsend, 36, of Hartford City.
Police said the truck struck Scharnk's vehicle on the driver's side, causing it to spin into the path of a westbound vehicle, driven by Pamela Green, 48, of Converse.
Schrank was taken to Marion General Hospital along with her three passengers, Cameron McNutt, 7, Riley McNutt, 5, and Faith Schrank, 11. The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured.
Police said all drivers and passengers in the crash were wearing their seatbelts.
Schrank was issued a citation for failure to yield to cross traffic.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
