ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - One lane of I-469 westbound at the 14.6 mile marker, just north of the U.S. 27 exit, was closed for several hours on Friday morning due to a semi trailer fire.
The fire happened around 7:00 Friday morning. According to the semi driver, an Indiana State Trooper pulled along side the semi because the tires were smoking. The trooper got the semi driver to pull over and once the semi got to the side the back of the semi caught fire.
The driver was hauling produce to Indianapolis. The Board of Health responded to the scene and said they will dispose of the produce because of the fire.
No one was injured.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
