PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) - One person is dead and a pregnant woman was airlifted to Parkview Hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash involving a semi on U.S. 24 in Paulding County Thursday evening.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a car driven by Tiffini Aldrich, 21, Cecil, Ohio, was traveling north on County Road 87 when she attempted to cross U.S. 24 around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Aldrich's vehicle was struck by an eastbound semi on U.S. 24, driven by Roy Pierre, 44, Quebec, Canada. The truck was loaded with 33,000 lbs. of freight, according to a police report.

Aldrich, who is six months pregnant, was airlifted to Parkview Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The report said Aldrich's passenger, Kayla Bidlack, 30, Cecil, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Paulding County Coroner.

The driver of the semi was taken to Paulding County Hospital and admitted for observation, according to a State Trooper who worked the crash. The driver did not sustain any injuries.

The OSHP said all three persons involved were wearing seatbelts.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

The crash occurred in the same exact spot of a massive pileup Feb. 5 involving several vehicles and tractor-trailers. One person was killed after fog caused low visibility during the morning commute.
