ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Allen County police are investigating a motorcycle accident in rural Allen County Tuesday evening that killed the driver and his passenger.
According to officials, Lucas T. Morrolf, 32, of Fort Wayne was driving the motorcycle down Schwartz Road around 10 p.m. when he missed a turn at Notestine Road. The motorcycle went off the road, hit a fence and ended up in an enclosed area that housed cows.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Morrolf was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The passenger, Janiece Malcolm, 27, also of Fort Wayne, was taken to an area hospital where she died later Tuesday evening.
The official cause of death for both has been ruled as Blunt Force Injury due to Motor Vehicle Crash.
The accident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff's Department.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
