MARKLE, Ind. (WANE) - A crash involving three cars left one person dead on Monday.
The crash happened at around 2:00 p.m. on State Road 3, just south of South Clarke Street in Markle.
Police said Richard Connelly, Jr., 57 of Fort Wayne, was driving southbound on State Road 3 when he drove left of the centerline and into the path of another vehicle, driven by Michael Gillispie, 32, of Montpelier. A third vehicle, driven by Robert Williford, 46, of Angola, was struck by Connelly following the impact of the crash with Gillispie's vehicle.
According to police, Connelly died at the scene. He was the only person in the car.
Police said Gillispie suffered minor injuries and Williford was not injured.
The crash is still under investigation.
