FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police are investigating a crash near East Wayne and Harmar Streets early Wednesday morning.
Officers believe the driver was heading the wrong way down Wayne St. a little after 4 a.m. The driver hit a light pole, crashed into a tree and then landed in a yard in the 900 block of Wayne St.
A woman told NewsChannel 15 after hearing the crash, she saw someone laying in the yard. She said she was going to call for an ambulance, but then that person ran off.
Police arriving at the scene found a car on its roof. They also located a revolver near the vehicle.
Officers soon found the driver in an alley between Wayne and Berry Streets.
