A Kosciusko County man was killed early Friday morning after the motorcycle he was driving slammed into a pickup truck that was sticking out into the road.
Russell P. Whetten, 54, of Milford was driving westbound on County Road 1150 North at around 2:45 am when he drove into the truck that had been partially backed into a driveway so the owner could attach a trailer. The owner of the truck, Charles A. Byrket of Milford, was hooking up the trailer at the time of the crash.
Whetten was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash from blunt force trauma.
The crash is still under investigation by the Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. Crash Investigation Team which is waiting for the result of a blood tests as required by Indiana law.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
