PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Van Wert Post is continuing to investigate a serious injury car accident that occurred on Friday evening on County Road 171 in Paulding County.
Police said Chasity S. Cunningham, 34, of Toledo, Ohio, was traveling southbound and attempted to turn left into a private drive on County Road 171.
Cunningham failed to yield to a motorcycle driver traveling northbound and was struck in the passenger side as it crossed the motorcycle’s lane. Cunningham and her passenger, Holly A Shively, 33, of Toledo, Ohio, were not injured.
The motorcycle driver, Daniel W. Bennett, 25, was flown by Samaritan LifeFlight to Parkview Regional Hospital.
Investigators said alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
Bennett was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
As of Wednesday afternoon, he is still listed in critical condition. The accident is under investigation.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
