GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A single vehicle crash in Grant County left an Elwood man injured Friday morning.
Police said Arthur Hensley, 53, was driving a semi-tractor, pulling a flat bed trailer, northbound on S.R. 37 near Grant County Road 600 South at around 8:00 a.m. when he drove off the side of the road and into a ditch.
The truck then went through the ditch, hit a tree, and came to rest after crashing into a barn. The barn was located at 5384 South Strawtown Pike.
According to police, Hensley allegedly suffered a medical problem which caused the crash.
The barn and the farm equipment stored inside was heavily damaged.
Police said Hensley was hauling sheet steel for General Logistics in Elwood and some of the load was lost after the semi-tractor crashed into the barn.
Hensley suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police said he was wearing a seat belt, which reduced the severity of his injuries.
Police said the use of alcohol and narcotics is not suspected as having contributed to the crash.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
