FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- Two people escaped with minor injuries after a two-car accident Monday afternoon at the intersection of Washington Center and O Day roads.

Just before 2:00, a woman headed south on O Day Road stopped at the intersection. According to Indiana State Police, she believed she had enough time to cross Washington Center Road before a westbound SUV reached the intersection, but when she pulled out, the westbound vehicle hit hers.

The two vehicles slid into a yard on the southwest corner of the intersection. The woman's SUV hit a house, while the other vehicle rolled over a large tank. That car had a male driver and no passengers.

Officers told NewsChannel 15 that both people suffered minor injuries. The male had some cuts on his face, while the female suffered from some back pain.

Both were taken to local health care facilities.
