INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A head-on-crash between a Chevy Silverado and Chevy Tahoe claimed the life of one person and injured two others Saturday morning.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near East 82nd Street by I-465. This is on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Officials say witnesses reported seeing the Tahoe driving at a high rate of speed, cross the median and hit the Silverado head-on.
When responding crews arrived on scene, they had to extricate the patients from the vehicle
Three people were transported to the hospital. One patient, a pregnant woman, was taken to the hospital with complaints of pain.
According to the police report, a female driver says her ex-boyfriend was operating a second vehicle and was pursuing her. She says her boyfriend struck her vehicle several times on purpose.
Her car swerved into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle.
She suffered a broken arm and lacerations to her liver.
Her passenger was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He has been identified as 29-year-old Rashshadd J. Artis.
Alcohol is not believed to have contributed to the crash.
