FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run accident after a driver allegedly struck a downtown building and continued driving.

Police said a driver of a minivan hit a building on the corner of West Washington Boulevard and Broadway Tuesday morning around 2 a.m.

The building's storefront appeared vacant.

The minivan was then located at the corner of Riedmiller Avenue and Stophlet Street about a mile away from the downtown building.

Police have the driver in custody. Police said alcohol might be a factor in the crash.

Officers didn't disclose if the driver sustained any injuries from the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
