DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - DeKalb County officers were called to an accident at the intersection of SR 427 and CR 68 at around 4 p.m. on Friday.
Police said Craig Smith, of Kendallville, was driving south bound on SR 427. As he was approaching the intersection of CR 68, Abbey Hutton, of Delphi, pulled out in front of him as she was traveling east on CR 68.
Smith struck Hutton's car on the driver's side. Both vehicles left the roadway.
Police said Hutton was pinned in her car after the crash and had to be extricated. She said she could not remember what had happened during the accident and was transported to Parkview Regional Hospital for evaluation.
A witness told police said that Hutton pulled in front of Smith's car and he did not have time to stop before the collision.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
