FAYETTE, OHIO (WANE) – Three teenage girls were hospitalized after a semi truck crashed into their car after they turned left on US 20 in Ohio Wednesday.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said around 6:16 p.m., Anna R. Baugh, 16, of Edon, Ohio was driving east on US 20 when a semi tractor trailer, driven by David Wesolek, of Buffalo, NY, tried to pass Baugh on the left side.
Police said as Baugh turned left into a private drive, Wesolek crashed into the driver’s side of her car.
Baugh was taken to Toledo Hospital and her two passengers, Stephanie J. Armbruster, 18 and Brook Schwartz, 16, were taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Police said US 20 was shut down for nearly two and a half hours during the investigation. They do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
