STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Police say a 24-year-old man was arrested early Saturday morning for drinking and driving after he hit another car.

According to officials, Daniel Hose, of Wolcottville, was driving northbound in the 2200 block of SR 327 in Steuben County at around 4:10 a.m., when he hit another vehicle, which was parked on the side of the road. Hose's car then hit a tree and came to rest in the middle of the road.

Police said the car that was parked on the side of the road belonged to Brittany Gray, 24, of Coldwater, Michigan. Gray had stopped at the mailbox in front of her house to deliver newspapers when Hose's car crashed into her car.

Gray was taken to the hospital for shoulder and leg injuries. Gray's passenger, Brandon Heiney 23, of Coldwater, Michigan, refused medical treatment at the scene. Police said Hose also refused medical treatment.

According to police, Hose was transported to the Steuben County jail for a breath test for alcohol. He was later arrested for driving while intoxicated.
