FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A quick moving snow shower across parts of northeast Indiana created slick roads overnight.

Between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. Wednesday, Fort Wayne police responded to several accidents.

Around 11:30 p.m., officers in DeKalb County responded to a jack-knifed semi on I-69 near State Road 8.

The northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for about 90 minutes while crews cleared the truck.

Officers in Fort Wayne responded to several minor accidents due to black ice.

Police working an initial crash on Illinois Road over I-69 said the bridge was covered in ice. Several other vehicles also hit the median wall or guardrail.

Police also responded to several accidents along I-69. Reports of accidents on Hillegas Road and Lima Road over I-69 also came in to Fort Wayne dispatchers.

Salt trucks from various agencies have put salt down on many primary and secondary roads overnight. Road conditions have improved, but the likelihood of black ice still exists on several roads.

Police in Steuben County have also reported slick roads because of ice.
