Speeding motorcyclist dies in crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The victim from Tuesday afternoon's fatal traffic crash on Coldwater Road has been identified. He is 25-year old Justin William Peffley from Fort Wayne.
Peffley was declared dead at the scene. The Allen County Coroner indicates he died from blunt force trauma.
Fort Wayne Police had to close part of Coldwater Road for more than 3 hours after the accident Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators say Peffley was riding his motorcycle northbound on Coldwater Road. Around 1:45 p.m., he tried to change lanes and struck the vehicle in front of him.
That collision then caused the motorcycle to collide into a barrier wall. Peffley died at the scene.
He was not wearing a helmet and police believe that speed may have been a factor in the accident.
Peffley is the 26th traffic fatality in Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2011. The crash remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the F.A.C.T. Team and the Allen County Coroner's Office.
