DECATUR, Ind. (WANE) - A 7-year-old boy was hit by a pick-up truck as he was heading to a bus stop at around 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Decatur police said three boys, two brothers and a friend, were walking to a bus stop on Madison Street. The two high school boys headed across 13th Street to get to the bus stop but told the younger boy to wait for traffic to clear.

The boy did not listen and ran right in front of a pick-up truck driving on 13th Street.

Police said the boy was taken to Parkview Hospital and as of Thursday at 2:45 p.m., he is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Nobody else was injured in the incident.
