SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, OHIO (WANE) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol believes that alcohol may have been a factor in a crash that critically injured a woman when she was ejected from an SUV early Sunday morning.
The highway patrol said the crash happened just before 2 a.m., on Geiser Road, east of Eber Road in Springfield Township in Lucas County.
The highway patrol said Kevin Musch, 29, of Holland, Ohio was headed east on Geiser Road in a 2002 Ford Expedition when he lost control and drove off the left side of the roadway and crashed into several trees.
Upon impact, one of his five passengers, Elizabeth Musch, 30, of Toledo, was ejected. She was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center for treatment and is currently in critical condition.
Musch’s other passengers: John D. Cunningham II, 33, Samuel O. Smith, 29, Sandy F. Russell, 31 and Florence Jung, 30, all of Toledo were injured, but no medical transportation was needed.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Toledo post.
