FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has canceled the intermittent closures of I-69's northbound lanes just north of Exit 116 at the Union Chapel Bridge, which were previously scheduled for tonight, Thursday, August 9.
Next week, the work will shift to the west side of the bridge, as beams are placed over the southbound lanes of I-69. This work will require brief, intermittent stoppages of traffic on southbound I-69, under the direction of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. INDOT will keep the media and public informed of scheduled I-69 lane closures for this work. All closures are currently expected to take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. All work is weather permitting.
The interchange is still on schedule to open by late fall 2012, with the exception of the northbound on-ramp to I-69 from Union Chapel Road. The entire project will be complete by summer 2013.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has made it easy to check road conditions around the state.
