NEWARK, N.J. - Warsaw native Miles Plumlee is staying in his home state to begin his NBA career as the Indiana Pacers selected the Duke standout with the no. 26 overall pick in Thursday night's NBA draft.

A Duke product, Plumlee will provide instant depth and athleticism in the post. At 6-11 3/4 and with a 40.5 inch vertical leap Plumlee is a physical specimen.

Plumlee's workouts over the past months rose his stock perhaps more than any other player in the draft. Originally projected as a late second round pick or a free agent Plumlee impressed scouts all across the league.

Plumlee, the eldest of three brothers at Duke, was born in Fort Wayne. He averaged 7 points a 7 rebounds a game last year as a senior.
