FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - State Senator Mike Delph (R-29), said Tuesday that a single-class basketball tournament was the preferred method among the people at a town hall meeting last week.  The final vote taken at Northrop High School was 28 votes for single-class, compared to 14 for the current multi-class system.

The IHSAA is doing a series of town hall meetings across the state over the next several weeks.  The first meeting was held Tuesday, April 10, at Northrop High School.

The second meeting was held Monday night at Vincennes.  At that meeting, the vote was 30-17 in favor of the multi-class system.

That brings the total vote to 45 for single-class, and 44 for multi-class.

The series continues Tuesday night in Plainfield.  The series will make another stop in northeast Indiana at Marion High School on Thursday, May 10.  The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
