Norwell Knights Girls Basketball

OSSIAN, Ind. (WANE) - This week Team of the Week is the Norwell girls basketball team.

The Knights are off to a 4-0 start with wins over Bishop Dwenger, Bluffton, Huntington North, and Concordia. Norwell beat the Cadets 60-53 last week to had the defending 3A state champs their first loss of the season. The win also knocked Concordia out of the no. 1 spot in the polls to no. 5 while Norwell climbed from no. 7 to no. 4.

Norwell's success comes after graduating perhaps the best player in program history, 2012 Indiana Miss Basketball Jessica Rupright. Rupright is currently a freshman at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

This season Eric Thornton's team is putting up 62.8 points a game while giving up just 41.5. Thornton is 212-127 in 16 years with the Knights.
