FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - This week Team of the Week is the Bishop Dwenger cheerleading squad.

The Saints recently swept the state meets, winning state on the varsity, junior varsity, and freshman levels. The sweep marks only the second time a school has held all three titles simultaneously. The only other time it was done was in 2010 by Dwenger.

It also makes the third year in a row the Dwenger varsity squad has won state and gives the Saints 21 state championships in the program's history.

Last spring the Saints also claimed their seventh national title.

Head coach Amy Gonzagowski says the Dwenger cheer program cheers at over 140 events each school year.

If you have a team you'd like to nominate, just send an email to sports@wane.com.
