MIAMI (AP/WISH) - The family of a Notre Dame student who was killed while filming football practice in 2010 will be attending the BCS title game Monday night.
Declan Sullivan of suburban Chicago died on Oct. 27, 2010 after falling from a 40-foot lift, where he was videotaping a Notre Dame football practice. Sullivan was 20-years-old at the time of the accident.
The day of the accident, wind gusts were blowing more than 50 mph. Notre Dame was fined more than $42,000 for safety violations.
Declan Sullivan's father says the family never had a desire to sue the school. The family says administrators were clearly sorry for the mistake, WSBT reports.
Notre Dame takes on Alabama in the BCS title game Monday night.
