HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) A Houston, Texas station reported Thursday that the Tennessee Titans are putting their financial future on the line to win the Peyton Manning sweepstakes.

KHOU said owner Bud Adams offered the former University of Tennessee star a contract “for life” to join the team.

Manning was in Nashville Wednesday to meet with Titans head coach Mike Munchak and other team personnel.

Adams said Tennessee fans have a lot of respect for Manning and it would be a perfect landing place for the future Hall of Famer.

Manning has also visited the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins.

The Indianapolis Colts released their long-time quarterback last week after Manning sat out all last season because of a neck injury.
