Rapheal Davis commits to Purdue

After visiting West Layafette Wednesday South Side high school freshman Rapheal Davis make his college choice known - he's going to play for the Purdue Boilermakers.

A six-five shooting guard, Davis averaged 16.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists last season for the Archers.

Davis told WANE that Ohio State, Illinois, Indiana, and Xavier were also recruiting him. He also had received interest from UCLA.

Davis' verbal commitment is non-binding, as high school athletes cannot sign scholarships until their senior year. Davis is the first Purdue commitment for the class of 2012.
