INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) — Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving could be out for a month because of the left shoulder sprain he suffered in Sunday night's loss against Toronto. With just 19 games left this regular season, it's possible Irving could be done for the season.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Miami saw 14 points from Jon Harris as the RedHawks upset Bowling Green in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament last night, 63-52. The Falcons' A'uston Calhoun had 10 points and six rebounds in the loss. Miami now advances to take on Eastern Michigan on Wednesday night.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) — The Indians and Angels played to a 0-0 tie yesterday in Arizona but Indians pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka (dys-kay maht-soo-zah-kah) left the game because of a cramp in his right calf. Scott Kazmir extended his spring scoreless string to 11 innings with four innings in relief for the Indians.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas of Ohio State have been named to the media's All-Big Ten first team. Thomas also makes the coaches' all-league list. Michigan's Trey Burke was named Big Ten player of the year by both the media panel and by league coaches.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Blue Jackets have send defenseman Cody Goloubef to their Springfield, Massachusetts, AHL team. Goloubef was the Blue Jackets' second pick in the 2008 draft and has appeared in nine games with Columbus so far this season after a call-up because of injuries.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Attorneys for high school football player Trent mays, who's accused of rape in Steubenville, are asking a judge to dismiss his case, claiming the "unavailability of material witnesses" denies his right to a fair trial. A judge last week said no to requests that three other juveniles be called to testify in the rape of a West Virginia 16-year-old.
