GENEVA, Ill. - All four members of the Fort Wayne TinCaps selected to the Midwest League All-Star game were contributors in the Eastern Division's victory in Tuesday night's game. Catcher Austin Hedges went 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI, while pitcher Adys Portillo pitched a scoreless first inning, securing the victory.
Shortstop Jace Peterson had two at bats, hiting a double and scoring one of the Eastern Divison's record-setting 18 runs. With a final score of 18-2, the two sides combined to score the most runs in Midwest League All-Star game history. The East set the record for most runs scored by a team in the Midwest League All-Star game.
TinCaps pitcher Frank Garces pitched two thirds of an inning and struck out one of the two batters he retired.
Fort Wayne returns to action on Friday, June 22, against the Lake County Captains at 7:05 PM at Parkview Field.
