FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - For two seasons Brandon Alger pitched just a few blocks away from Parkview Field as the lefty from Leo was dominant on the mound at Indiana Tech. Tomorrow, Alger could get shot to pitch at Parkview as a pro as he recently joined the TinCaps for the postseason.
Alger - who was drafted 26th round by San Diego this summer - got called up from Eugene. As a lefty, Alger will help against a Lansing lineup that can send a lot of left-handed hitters to the batters box.
In 15 appearances with Eugene, Alger posted a 4-1 record with a 2.32 ERA - the third best on the team for pitches with at least 40 innings pitched.
The TinCaps open the postseason at Parkview Field on Wednesday night when they host Lansing at 7:05 p.m. in their best of three first round series.
