DES MOINES, Iowa -- Point guard Chris Wright scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out nine assists to lead the Iowa Energy to a 102-88 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Saturday night. The Energy dominated the glass, outrebounding Fort Wayne by a 61-41 margin.
Iowa led 52-46 at halftime before breaking the game open in the third quarter. The hosts outscored Fort Wayne 30-11 in the stanza to take a commanding 82-57 lead before coasting to the victory in their home opener.
Quincy Miller, on assignment from the Denver Nuggets, scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Iowa.
Darryl Partin led Fort Wayne with 17 points while JuJuan Johnson scored nine points and added 14 rebounds for Fort Wayne.
Iowa improves to 1-2, while Fort Wayne falls to 2-3.
