FORT WAYNE, IN. - The 2012 FWWGA City Tournament field may be devoid of two-time defending champion Katie O'Brien - but Michelle Smith looked every bit ready to hoist the hardware on Saturday afternoon. Smith carded a three-under 70 at Brookwood Golf Course to take a three stroke lead entering Sunday's second round.

While Smith may have a comfortable lead atop the leader board presently, it's a log jam after that. Amber Seiber, Sara Mess and Allison Curtis are in a three-way tie for second place at even. Lauren Biedak and Karly Dobis are in a tie for fifth after shooting one-over 74's, and past champion Lori Stinson is in a tie for seventh at two over.

Round two begins Sunday morning, with the final round being played on Monday.
