FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - After playing in the Midwest League All-Star game Tuesday night in Illinois Fort Wayne native Ryan Wright made a stop back in the Summit City as he gets prepared for the second half of the season with the Dayton Dragons.
Wright played well in the All-Star game, going 1-for-3 as a designated hitter with an RBI single in the ninth inning en route to a 18-2 win by the Eastern Division.
Wright hit .286 for Dayton in the first half. His 17 doubles led the team and his 29 RBI tied for the team lead. The Homestead grad led the Dragons with 100 total bases and also chipped in 12 stolen bases.
Wright's numbers took a dip following a wrist injury, but he's looking to improve on them in the second half.
Wright was drafted by the Reds in the fifth round last summer out of the University of Louisville.
