FORT WAYNE, IN. - The first annual Peterson Golf Outing teed off at Autumn Ridge Golf Course Saturday afternoon. The goal of the event is to help raise funds for the newly formed Barrie Peterson Scholarship Fund, named for the celebrated former Northrop track and cross county coach.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded each spring - starting in 2013 - to a graduating male track and field athlete at Northrop. Peterson says that while athletic performance will play a role in the selection process, academics will be just as important.
