FORT WAYNE, IN. - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants returned home after their long road trip and were able to treat their home fans to an entertaining and hard fought 115-108 victory over the Maine Red Claws Thursday evening at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
The game was back and forth throughout, but the Ants were able to push ahead to a 99-90 fourth quarter lead when Tony Mitchell took a rebound off a Xavier Silas miss and threw an alley-oop to Sadiel Rojas for a thunderous dunk that had the home crowd roaring and on its feet. The Red Claws fought hard to keep themselves in the game, but they could not get any closer than five points, and the Ants iced the game with free throws to give themselves the win.
For the Red Claws, Micah Downs scored 24 points, Chris Wright added 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Andre Barrett scored 16 points and dished out 15 assists.
The Mad Ants were led by double-double machine Luke Harangody, who scored 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Darryl Partin added 20 points, Anthony Harris had a spectacular game with 15 points and 17 assists, and Tony Mitchell continued his fine play with 19 points and 9 rebounds.
