FORT WAYNE, IN. - For the second consecutive year at Sycamore Hills Golf Course, Friday belonged to Ariya Jutanugarn. The native of Thailand birdied the final four holes to claim her second Jr. PGA Championship with a score of -14. She joins just five other female golfers to have won the event more than once.
Samantha Wagner who entered the day tied at 9-under with Jutanugarn shot a 2-under 70, but it just wasn't enough to top the defending champion. Alison Lee finished in third after carding a -9 for the tournament. Ariya's sister Moriya was fourth at 8-under.
In the boys field, Robbie Shelton rode the momentum of his record-breaking round of 64 on Thursday, all the way to a championship. Shelton's 13-under was three strokes better than runner-up Cameron Champ. The big movers on the final day however were Adam Wood and Brad Dalke who finished third and fourth respectively.
The Zionsville native Wood shot a four under to jump from seventh place entering the day. Meanwhile, Dalke came within a stroke of equaling Shelton's single-round record. The Texas native fired a 7-under 65 to finish at eight under for the tournament.
