FORT WAYNE, IN. - The annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Dinner Banquet in Fort Wayne has a history of landing big names from the basketball community to serve as guest speaker. Thursday night was no exception as former Hoosier star and current Indiana Pacers broadcaster Quinn Buckner headlined the event.
Among other topics, Buckner discussed the current state of the Indiana/Kentucky basketball series. News first broke on Wednesday that a second set of discussions between the two schools to revive their series had broken down.
Despite the continued string of negative developments, Buckner is confident the series will continue.
"I know they've got something new with North Carolina," Buckner says of Kentucky. "But Indiana, because its a border rivalry, just makes more sense to me."
