FORT WAYNE, IN. - Having already established his career as a professional basketball player, Ron Howard has taken the summer to venture into a new foray: camp counselor.

After contemplating the idea for several years, the Mad Ants star is instructing and running his own summer camp for kids, the Game Day Sports Camp. Kids ranging in age from kindergarten to eight grade have  been in action at the Concordia Theological Seminary for the past six weeks, playing games, doing arts and crafts and partaking in various character building activities.

Howard says its an opportunity to give back to a community that has been so welcoming to he and his family over the last five years.

The Mad Ants are coming off the worst season in franchise history, but Howard is optimistic looking ahead to 2012-13 with new head coach Duane Ticknor taking over. The veteran guard will be entering his sixth season with the oraganization.
