FORT WAYNE, IN. - In a career that has been defined by unlikely wins - Brad Stevens was an obvious choice to be honored as the 2012 Red Coat recipient.

Since taking over the Butler men's basketball program in 2007, Stevens has lead the Bulldogs to national prominence, including back-to-back national championship game appearances in 2010 and 2011. His next challenge will be overseeing his programs move to a bigger conference.

Butler will leave the Horizon League for the Atlantic-10 starting next season - a move that will provide a tougher conference schedule, but also aid in recruiting and earning at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament.

Stevens joins previous award winners such as Tom Crean and John Daly.
