FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - With the TinCaps off for the Midwest League All-Star break Parkview Field hosted a Major League tryout put on by the San Diego Padres organization that saw Fort Wayne Mad Ants guard Ron Howard test his skills on the diamond.
The workout was for players ages 16 to 22 but the 29-year old Howard got a chance to show off his talent in the outfield. The leading scorer in Mad Ants history, Howard says he's always been a fan of the game and thought it would be an easier transition from the hardwood to the diamond.
The TinCaps will be back at Parkview Friday night when they open the second half of the season against Lake County.
