FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Mad Ants dominated from start to finish as Fort Wayne beat the Springfield Armor 115-86 in front of 3,443 fans at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Thursday night.

Roderick Wilmont’s energetic play got the Ants off to a fantastic start as he scored 15 first quarter points on 3 of 4 shooting from behind the arc. Sean Sonderleiter jumped into the mix by adding 8 points and 7 rebounds and helping push the home team took a 34-25 lead into the second quarter.

It was all Mad Ants from there as the Ants pushed the lead to 29 in the second quarter. A combination of hot shooting (13 for 21 from the field) and tough defense (held Springfield to 37.5% from the field) gave the home team a comfortable margin at the half.

Things did not get any better for the Armor in the second half as the Mad Ants pushed their lead to as high as 47 points before the game devolved into garbage time and the Mad Ants finished out the 29 point victory.

The Mad Ants were led by another fine performance from Rod Wilmont who scored 24 points. Ryan Ayers, Rob Kurz, and Sean Sonderleiter each scored 18 points, with Sonderleiter producing another double-double by collecting 12 rebounds.

The Armor were led by Justin Hawkins, who scored 19 points, and Marcus Campbell, who put forth a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
