FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The NBA D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today that they have acquired Jason Straight. To make room on the roster the team has waived Ron Howard due to injury.
Straight was the 5th round draft pick of the Dakota Wizards in the 2009 NBA D-League Draft. He played in 13 games for the Wizards and averaged 11.1 points per game before being waived on 1/31/09.
After completing four years at the University of Wyoming, where he averaged 13.1 points throughout his career, he competed overseas with several teams from 2004-2009. He has spent time with teams in Italy, Israel, Ukraine, France, Croatia, Poland, and Cyprus.
Straight is expected to join the team this Thursday, January 28th in a home competition against the Springfield Armor.
Howard, the Mad Ants leading scorer, suffered a broken finger on 1/13 at Erie. His return date is still to be determined.
