FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Mad Ants have agreed to trade their original 3 rd round pick in the 2013 NBA D-League draft to the Santa Cruz Warriors in exchange for Tommy Smith.
Smith, a 6’10” forward from Arizona State, averaged 7.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game for the Dakota Wizards during the 2011-12 NBA D-League season. He was drafted in the second round (53 rd overall) of the 2003 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls. He averaged 11.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 32 games for the Bulls. Smith then spent time playing in the Philippines, Germany, Syria, and China, before being acquired by the Dakota Wizards in December of 2011.
